The Anagram Project
Your English is So Good, uses anagrams and antigrams to reveal an underlying conversation, perhaps a conversation as seen through the eyes of the undocumented community. This work is made up of (9) 10” x 22.5” monotypes, screen-print, and text prints presented as an unbound book. I created the anagram “Main Race” from the subject word “American”. When I set out to find other anagrams, a narrative emerged.
Your English is So Good presents a space of resistance by creating an alternative platform for discussion. The closer we reveal the illusionary features of physical barriers, the harder it becomes to define who is self and who is other.
